Established in 1967, the University of Salford is a leading public institution of higher education and research in Salford, Great Manchester, New England. It was originally set up as Royal Technical Institute in 1896, transforming into the College of Advanced Technology in 1956. The institution received the university status under the Royal Charter of 1967. It has affiliations from numerous reputable organizations such as the University Alliance, Association of Commonwealth Universities and North West Universities Association.
The University of Salford boasts a beautiful 160-acre main campus located along the banks of River Irwell, referred to as the Peel Park Campus. The campus consists of pathways, parking areas, green spaces and buildings housing high-end academic, administrative and support facilities and services.
